COLCHESTER, Vt. – Sophomore
Colin Kinsella (Winthrop, Mass./Winthrop) hit two home runs and drove in five runs as the Saint Michael's College baseball team clinched a sweep of a two-game weekend series against Adelphi University, 9-7, during Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday at Doc Jacobs Field. The Panthers received a vote toward this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region poll.

THE ACTION
- Adelphi earned its only lead of the game in the top of the first inning when senior Joe Pellegrino drove in Catuosco on a two-out single to left-center to make it 1-0.
- Larson tied the game in the home half of the second on a groundout to second that brought home Gilboy.
- Kinsella hit his first home run in the bottom of the third to right field to bring in two runs and give the Purple Knights a 3-1 lead.
- Tate hit a solo home run to lead off the fourth inning and sophomore James Eden hit a two-out single to score Wishner to tie the game at three.
- Senior Evan Balian (Lynnfield, Mass./Lynnfield) drove in Larson on a groundout to second base in the bottom of the fourth inning to put the Purple and Gold ahead before Kinsella launched a three-run home run with two outs to put the Purple Knights up 7-3.
- Adelphi added two runs in the top of the seventh inning on a pair of RBI singles, but the Purple Knights responded with two runs in the home half to keep the lead at 9-5. Larson drove in one with an RBI knock.
- The Panthers scored twice on three hits in the ninth but left two on base when Colin Burke induced a game-ending groundout.
