WORCESTER, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College men's tennis team lost to Assumption University, 6-1, during Northeast-10 Conference play on Tuesday at the Assumption Tennis Courts. The Purple Knights were among six teams listed in the first NCAA East Region rankings. In a closer match than the final score indicates, Saint Michael's lost all three doubles matches by a single break and lost three singles matches in three sets.

- Each of the Purple Knights' doubles tandems lost their matches by a single break at 6-4. Moser and sophomore Garrett Brooker (Charleston, S.C./Oceanside Collegiate Academy) suffered the first setback in the No. 2 spot before graduate student Tristian Du Plessis (Rustenburg, South Africa/Hoërskool Waterkloof/Wallace State CC) and senior Sergio Barroso (Madrid, Spain/Colegio Montpellier) were downed at No. 1, allowing Assumption to take a 1-0 lead.
- Junior Simon Lundholm (Le Luc, France/CNED) and first-year Benji Hegedus-Kyster (Budapest, Hungary/British International School Hungary) fell in the third position.
- After the Greyhounds won the first two singles matches in straight sets, Moser made it 3-1 by capturing a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) decision in the fifth spot.
- Assumption won the final three matches in three sets. Brooker lost 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 for the clinching point before Barroso was downed 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 at No. 2. Du Plessis' epic outing in the top position concluded in a 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (9-7) defeat.
