Three Softball Student-Athletes Claim CSC Academic All-District Accolades

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Three Saint Michael's College softball student-athletes qualified for College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division II Academic All-District honors on Tuesday.

Recent graduate Jenna Devens (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany) and rising seniors CJ Davidson (Canyon Lake, Calif./Vista Murrieta) and Brooke Edgerly (Morley, Mich./Morley Stanwood) were among 34 Northeast-10 Conference student-athletes recognized.

Devens landed her third career CSC Academic All-District nod, adding to a spring awards collection that included Division II Collegiate Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) All-East Region first team, National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-East Region first team, and NE10 Player of the Year. She graduated with a 3.71 cumulative grade-point average while winning her second career NE10 home run crown (8) and batting title (.439). Devens also led the league in slugging percentage (.776) and on-base percentage (.512) while setting a school record for RBI (33). The two-time captain was top 32 in NCAA Division II in slugging (25th), batting (30th) and OBP (32nd), placing in the top four in each among all East Region players.

Davidson earned her initial CSC Academic All-District accolade after placing second on the team in RBI (23), home runs (4) and slugging percentage (.418) while tying for third in walks (12). The Purple Knights' regular right fielder added four stolen bases. Davidson, who carries a 3.52 GPA into her senior year, also picked up four wins in the circle, logging 60.2 innings while completing six of her 12 starts. She keyed the Purple and Gold's postseason push with three straight wins in mid-April before yielding only two runs in a playoff setback at eventual super regional champion Pace University, which advanced as far as the national semifinals.

Edgerly claimed her second straight CSC Academic All-District honor, and holds a 3.94 GPA. One of 13 NE10 All-Defensive Team picks for the 2025 season, Edgerly patrolled center field to the tune of a .987 fielding percentage, committing just one error while picking up three assists. As the Purple Knights' leadoff hitter, she batted .315 while scoring 27 runs, stealing nine bases in as many attempts, and ripping five triples. Edgerly led the NE10 in three baggers, tied for ninth in stolen bases, and tied for 12th in runs.

College Sports Communicators recognizes major contributors toting at least a 3.50 GPA by their sophomore seasons. Each school was able to put a maximum number of student-athletes forward for an award that previously necessitated voting. Instead, All-District honorees can now advance directly to the Academic All-America ballot, which still incorporates national membership voting. Through the Academic All-America program, CSC names Academic All-District and Academic All-America teams at each the NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III levels, while the College Division team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
