COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's volleyball head coach
Lauren Brough introduced her program's six-woman Class of 2029 on Wednesday.
Â
Jillian Becker
Hometown: Little Egg Harbor, N.J.
High School: Pinelands Regional High School
Position: Opposite Hitter
Coach Brough: "In addition to her raw athleticism, we enjoy Jill because of her nature as a teammate. She demonstrated a high level of maturity and integrity in her on-court interactions with our team during our prospect day. Jill is incredibly versatile, will add significant depth, and will increase competition within our roster in multiple positions, especially on the opposite. She is a perfect fit!"
Â
Abby Crowley
Hometown: Westerly, R.I.
High School: La Salle Academy
Position: Setter
Coach Brough: "Abby was an immediate 'yes' after the first time we spoke, and we have only come to appreciate her more in the past year and a half. She is deeply committed to our program and our community even before arriving as a first-year. On the court, Abby provides quickness, precision, and joyful leadership, and her presence is impossible to ignore. Her future as a Purple Knight is very bright."
Â
Lillie King
Hometown: Livermore, Calif.
High School: Carondelet High School
Positions: Opposite Hitter/Middle Blocker
Coach Brough: "Lillie comes to Saint Michael's with a wealth of experience playing at a high level. Her physicality and athleticism are incredibly impressive and fun to watch. She is trained as a middle but has found her niche as a right-side hitter in the past year, and we envision her making an impact right away both offensively and defensively. Both Lillie's humor and intensity are contagious, and she is a fantastic culture addition for this year's team."
Â
Caitlin Mediate
Hometown: Portsmouth, R.I.
High School: Portsmouth High School
Position: Setter
Coach Brough: "Caitlin lives and breathes volleyball - she is an athlete that is constantly chasing improvement in technique, strategy, and volleyball IQ. As an experienced beach player, Caitlin will bring both creativity and a deep understanding of the game, even as a first-year. It will be exciting to see how she connects with our offensive weapons and makes a name for herself in the NE10."
Â
Justine Sharkness
Hometown: Canton, Mich.
High School: Plymouth High School
Positions: Defensive Specialist/Libero
Coach Brough: "Justine is a pleasure to be around, and we are ecstatic to have added her to our roster. Her enthusiasm, joy, and love for the game is unmatched and aligns deeply with our core values as a team. On the court, Justine is gritty with a very strong defensive range which, when paired with her composure and easy movement on serve receive, will add depth to our roster of defensive specialists and liberos."
Â
Rory Tower
Hometown: Fountain Hills, Ariz.
High School: Desert Mountain High School
Position: Middle Blocker
Coach Brough: "We are beyond excited to have Rory be a part of our PK family. She is a fierce competitor with an established skillset and will make an impact in her first year. Our favorite thing about Rory - outside of her legendary post-point celebrations - is how many different ways she can be an offensive threat. When well-connected with her setter, she makes strategic choices that will positively impact our offensive efficiency."
