Field Hockey Loses 2-1 Decision to Southern Connecticut State on Late Goal

COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College field hockey team opened Northeast 10 Conference play with a narrow 2-1 loss to Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday at Duffy Field.

She is eight shy of Jean Harbeck's '90 37-year-old program record of 180, set in 1988. With 347 career stops, Cameron is six short of Jennifer England '93 (353) for fourth place.
  • Ouellette posted her fourth defensive save of the season.
THE ACTION
  • Leckey put the Owls in front during an 11th-minute penalty corner sequence, completing a give-and-go with sophomore Lindsey Onofrio from the middle of the circle.
  • Less than 30 seconds after Cameron made a diving stick save, DeGeorge slipped behind the visiting defense to receive Wall's through ball before finishing in close early in the 20th minute.
  • With two minutes to go in a tie game, Ouellette dove across the goal line to deny junior Kyla Hart-Perron's go-ahead attempt.
  • Just inside the final minute, Cameron knocked a pass away with her stick, and Fölster cleaned up the rebound for the winner on the game's final shot.
