Women's Ice Hockey Opens Season with Exhibition Setback at Vermont

BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team opened the 2025-26 season with an exhibition game at crosstown rival University of Vermont on Saturday, losing 8-0 in Gutterson Fieldhouse.

  • Lavender made 16 first-period saves to keep the game scoreless.
  • Vermont broke on the board 2:38 into the second frame when O'Hara dished for junior Brooke George. Hemp had two points when the Catamounts netted three goals in a 4:32 span later in the stanza.
  • Vermont added four more goals in the third period.
