- Ohlgren reestablished the two-goal lead 1:24 into the second stanza.
- During a 5-on-3 power play late in the period, junior Maddie Quinn (Chicago, Ill./Team Illinois AAA) forced a turnover in the left corner before McDonald picked up the loose puck, skated around the right post, and picked the corner at 18:28.
- Lavender stopped all 18 shots sent her way in a shutout third period. With her pulled for the final 1:01, Jerylo and Chedel both put shots on net that Czukoski denied, and a final bid by Quinn with 27 seconds to go was blocked.
