COLCHESTER, Vt. - The nationally-regarded Saint Michael's College women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday evening against regionally-ranked Saint Anselm College, 3-0, during Northeast 10 Conference action at Duffy Field. The Purple Knights received votes toward this week's United Soccer Coaches national poll while standing sixth in the East Region poll, and the Hawks stood eighth in the region.

THE ACTION
- In the 22nd minute, sophomore Julia Palmese (Berlin, Conn./Berlin) received a corner kick and sent a ball toward net, where classmate Scarlett Brookes (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) redirected a shot off the right post.
- Later in the same minute, a Hawk was pulled down in the box, and Deneen buried a penalty kick.
- In the opening minute of the second half, Brookes nearly found the equalizer, but a diving Hawk field player blocked an open net for the save.
- Jerome put home an insurance goal in the 72nd minute after being sprung for a 1-on-1 rush by first-year Nicole Schneider.
- Atherton finished Deneen's pass to the right side of the box in the 87th minute.
