Women's Ice Hockey Closes Weekend Series with Loss to Saint Anselm

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team finished a New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) weekend series against first-place Saint Anselm College with a 4-0 loss on Saturday at Cairns Arena.

  • Senior Elisabeth Gerebi (Victoria, Minn./Chanhassen) appeared in her 123rd career game, tying former teammate Gaby Tribelli '25 for third in program history.
THE ACTION
  • Moss' shot from the left circle found its way into the net with 6:11 gone for the only scoring in the first period.
  • Dogan scored 1:41 into the second period when junior Brenna Young's pass from the right boards hit her out front and redirected past Lavender.
  • The Purple Knights put three shots on net during a 5-on-3 power play later in the frame, but first-year Kyler Weatherred's (Eagle, Colo./Team Colorado AAA Hockey Club) bid from the left circle was denied by Czukoski's blocker save at 6:51 before the netminder moved post to post to turn away sophomore Audrey Hetman (Gurnee, Ill./Milwaukee Jr. Admirals) at 7:16.
  • Hetman made a quick move to get close to Czukoski with a backhanded shorthanded attempt at 11:11 that was smothered.
  • Waldo waited out a defender with a toe drag through the right circle before tallying at 14:15 to make it 3-0.
  • Dogan finished a solo effort up the seam with a backhanded finish at 1:02 of the third period for the final goal.
