- Saint Michael's held a 12-9 lead in shots during the opening frame before Lavender made 49 saves in the final two periods alone.
- The Eagles struck for the tying goal at 12:08 of the second period during a power play, as Mickevicius tipped home Hoen's pass from the right point.
- Late in regulation, Hoen forced a giveaway just outside the Purple Knight zone before carrying into the left circle on an odd-woman rush and slipping a shot past Lavender at 13:27.
- Lavender was pulled in favor of an extra skater with 51 seconds left, but the visitors were unable to put a tying attempt on Amundson.
