Women's Ice Hockey Downed by Post, 4-2, to Finish NEWHA Weekend

SHELTON, Conn. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team capped a New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) weekend series at Post University with a 4-2 loss on Saturday at the Sports Center of Connecticut.

  • Gerebi played in her 125th career game, tying Grace Canterbury '25 for second in program history.
THE ACTION
  • Farberman put Post ahead with 3:55 gone in the first period, sending in her own rebound while falling to the ice.
  • Jarvis scored the next two goals to stake Saint Michael's to a 2-1 advantage. At 13:07, she finished an individual effort against two defenders through two-thirds of the ice, sweeping the puck in the left circle to elude the first Eagle before finishing from out front with the other on her right hip.
  • Following a faceoff in the left circle early in the second frame, Gerebi poked a loose puck down low to Jarvis, who went over Young's right shoulder from out front at 3:53.
  • Post tied the game 1:59 later, as Farberman put in another second effort after Dans denied junior Celena Mickevicius's bid from the right point.
  • Zohner knocked in a rebound at 17:21 to give the Eagles the lead for good.
  • Post padded its lead with 55 seconds left in regulation during a 5-on-3 power play, as Hoen took the slot and picked a corner to put her team up two goals.
