THE ACTION

• The Purple Knights scored twice in a matter of 3:22 in the latter stages of the first period. LeComte pushed home a third effort out front with 13:31 gone after Naumann and Bloom had initial bids stopped.
• Later in the frame, sophomore Roman Winicki (Setauket, N.Y./Philadelphia Hockey Club) sprung Sacco for a rush into the left circle, where he slipped a shot over Kirton's shoulder at 16:53.
• Tauriainen won a 50/50 puck in the right corner early in the second period before whipping a shot from the right circle glove side at 2:21 to make it 3-0. Walsh and senior Ashton Allain (Brentwood, Tenn./Walpole Express) assisted.
• Kender spoiled Plunkett's shutout 1:28 into the third period, sending in a shot from above the left circle.
• Wracker responded only 1:08 later, tapping in a loose puck after Walsh was denied out front. Leale had the secondary helper.
• Bloom scored on an empty net at 15:51, with LeComte and Naumann assisting, before LeComte got behind the defense and finished Naumann's lead pass at 18:01. Lee added an assist.
