MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Michael's College men's basketball team used a 30-3 surge in the second half to push past Southern New Hampshire University, 79-64, on Wednesday evening during Northeast 10 Conference play in Spirou Field House. The Purple Knights won for the seventh time in eight games.

- Saint Michael's also downed the Penmen on Nov. 25, 78-71, and have now won consecutive meetings in the series for the first time since a four-game winning streak between 2010 and 2012.
THE ACTION
- Wallace (5) and redshirt junior Jahshawne Joseph (6) did all of the Penmen scoring during an 11-2 start before senior Ugo Nwachukwu's second straight bucket pushed the lead to 15-4 by 14:59 of the opening half.
- Briscoe scored seven points in a 10-0 response that brought the Purple Knights within a point, but Lawal knocked down three-pointers on his team's next two possessions. The hosts led 30-27 at halftime.
- Down 35-29 in the early stages of the second half, Saint Michael's used a 15-3 run to take the lead for good, with Kenney's triple ultimately pushing the visitors into a 47-40 advantage at 13:13.
- Senior Ray Daniels' free throw brought the Penmen within 47-45 with 11:54 to go, but the Purple Knights responded with the next 17 points, which became a 30-3 run that took only 5:37 to elapse. The Purple and Gold shot 6-of-7 from deep and 10-for-13 on free throws with only one giveaway in that time, as Dumont's nine points led six scorers.
