GAME FACTS
  • Montplaisir exceeded her career high of 29 set on Nov. 25 at Southern Connecticut State University. The team's leading scorer, she had made every appearance this year in a reserve capacity.
  • Montplaisir's 32 points tied for eighth in program history and were the most in a true road game that did not extend to overtime. It was the highest point total by a Purple Knight since Brigid Hegarty '06 netted 34 in a double-overtime contest versus Saint Thomas Aquinas College on Nov. 20, 2005, but the most scored in a regulation affair since Erika Enge '02 had 33 versus LIU-Southampton on Nov. 18, 2001. Kathy O'Neil '81 set the scoring record with 36 points in a neutral-site game against Bates College on Dec. 6, 1980.
  • Saint Michael's snapped the Penmen's four-game winning streak while winning at Southern New Hampshire for the first time since Dec. 10, 2016.
THE ACTION
  • Tyler scored the game's first two buckets en route to four Purple Knights scoring during a 12-0 run that made it 22-8 by 2:03 of the first quarter, when junior Ruby Santos (New Paltz, N.Y./Kent School) dropped in a lay-up.
  • The Penmen drew within 27-18 on first-year Izzy Terzioski's hoop with 5:28 left in the second, but Saint Michael's scored 10 of the half's final 12 points to lead 37-20 by halftime. The visitors shot 57.1% from inside the arc during the opening 20 minutes while holding Southern New Hampshire to 29.0% shooting overall.
  • The hosts scored the first eight points out of the intermission, but Furch's three-pointer at 5:59 of the third quarter made it 42-30, and the Purple Knights maintained a double-digit lead until the late stages of the contest.
  • Winterburn's triple at 6:08 of the fourth quarter had her team down 63-56, and the Penmen were still within 70-63 at 1:18. From there, the hosts fouled Montplaisir - who had attempted only 16 free throws all season - five times down the stretch. The sophomore shot 8-of-10 on freebies in the final 1:08 alone to salt away the victory.
