THE ACTION
- The Purple Knights erased a 22-19 deficit in the opening set with three straight points, with Daggett dropping two aces in the stretch. After a visitor attack error, Bowbliss capped the set with two aces.
- After trailing 4-2, Saint Michael's netted four points in a row - with LaFrenier dropping a kill and Mediate an ace - to go ahead for good.
- The team played through 11 ties in set No. 3, as the Purple Knights were ahead 23-19 and eventually held six set points as the stanza extended into extra points. Tower's kill made it 27-26, but Petrocelli sandwiched kills around a Saint Michael's error to cap a clinching 3-0 run.
- Eleven more ties were featured in the fourth set, when LaFrenier had four kills in a go-ahead 6-0 run that put the visitors up 19-15. Assumption twice cut the deficit to two points, but Settles and McKay countered with kills, including McKay downing hers to win the set.
- The Greyhounds scored the first seven points in the fifth set en route to leading 11-1 and never looked back.
