THE ACTION
  • The Purple Knights took a first-inning lead on Gilboy's bases-loaded walk, forcing home Cavossa.
  • Shoffler scored the tying run in the home half before the Raiders went ahead on Harbach's two-run double in the second.
  • Shippensburg scored four more runs - all with two out - on four hits in the third, capped by Oates' two-run homer.
  • With the hosts ahead 7-1, neither team scored again until Shoffler came through with a two-out RBI knock in the eighth.
  • Saint Michael's loaded the bases in the ninth and, with two down, the Raiders tried back picking the runner at second, but first-year Luca Sapienza (Saugus, Mass./Malden Catholic) stole home on the play.
