NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Saint Michael's College men's basketball team lost at Southern Connecticut State University, 83-71, on Saturday during Northeast 10 Conference play in Moore Fieldhouse. The Purple Knights were among 10 teams listed in this week's first NCAA Division II East Region rankings.

With one regular-season game remaining, Saint Michael's is tied with Pace University for fourth place in the NE10, which takes seven teams into its postseason tournament. The No. 1 seed earns a first-round bye while the No. 2 through 4 seeds host first-round contests.

THE ACTION
- The Owls led 6-2 by the time 1:14 had elapsed in the contest before Floyd buried a three-pointer at 18:19 of the first half and fed Littleton for a go-ahead lay-up 1:07 later.
- Southern Connecticut State responded with an 11-2 run, leading by as many as 12 points on two occasions before taking a 41-33 lead into halftime.
- The Purple Knights trimmed the deficit to 51-45 when Kenney hit a free throw at 14:36 of the second stanza, but Crosby hit a triple 16 seconds later en route to the Owls leading by double digits for nearly the remainder of regulation.
