GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College men's basketball team lost to Adelphi University, 73-55, on Saturday in a Northeast 10 Conference contest at the Center for Recreation and Sport. The two teams are now among a five-squad logjam for second place in the NE10 standings with five regular-season games left.

THE ACTION
- After Adelphi scored the game's first six points, the Purple Knights countered with a 12-3 run, leading 12-9 after Kenney's three-point play at 13:19 of the first half.
- Saint Michael's was still ahead 19-16 after senior Zocko Littleton (Albany, Ga./Osborne/Rider) knocked down a jumper at 5:36, but Adelphi responded with a 10-2 run, with Burke scoring the final five points.
- Jackson's lay-in with 49 seconds to go extended the lead to 32-26 before the Purple Knights scored the final two baskets to trail by two at halftime. Marold's lay-up 24 seconds into the second stanza tied the game.
- The Panthers slowly pulled away on the strength of a 36-9 run, leading 68-41 on Jackson's steal and fastbreak basket at 6:00.
