Kolifrath Sets Home Run Record, Pattison's Late Dinger Salvages Twinbill Tie

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Saint Michael's College baseball graduate student Max Kolifrath (Millbury, Mass./Millbury) slugged his program-record 17th home run, and junior Jack Pattison's (Vernon, Vt./Vermont Academy) go-ahead homer in the seventh and final inning propelled the Purple Knights to a split of Pace University on Saturday at Peter X. Finnerty Field. Saint Michael's won the nightcap of the Northeast 10 Conference twinbill, 9-8 in seven innings, after the Setters, who were 10th in this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region poll, won 7-4 in the opener.

DOUBLEHEADER FACTS
  • Kolifrath's 17th home run broke a tie with Trevor Allen '19 for the prior program mark, and is alone in third with 76 RBI.
  • Senior Sam Cavossa (East Falmouth, Mass./The Winchendon School) is now third all-time at Saint Michael's in runs (80), within three of Nicky Elderton's '15 mark (83) and tied Allen for third in hits (136).

THE ACTION

  • In the home half, Pace drew a leadoff walk before Guzman struck out the next two batter's and induced a game-ending fielder's choice grounder.
