Jayla Tyler (Albany, N.Y./Colonie Central/Saint Rose) was named Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, March 1.

Tyler posted 24 points, 11 rebounds, six offensive rebounds and a block during a 66-55 win at Saint Anselm College on Tuesday. She shot 8-of-12 from the floor and 8-for-10 on free throws. During a 73-61 win at fourth-seeded American International College in an NE10 Championship first-round victory on Sunday, Tyler turned in 17 points, seven rebounds and two steals for the fifth-seeded Purple Knights. She leads the NE10 in offensive rebounding (3.4) after pacing the conference last season (3.8). Tyler is also second in double-doubles (9), tied for fifth in blocks (22), sixth in rebounding (7.5), ninth in scoring (13.4) and field goal shooting (45.7%), and tied for ninth in steals per game (1.8).

At 15-12, the Purple Knights visit top-seeded Bentley University, which was 12th in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) national poll, for an NE10 Championship semifinal on Thursday at 6 p.m. Saint Michael's, which plays its first semifinal since 1992, was 10th in last week's NCAA East Region rankings, while the Falcons were first.
