COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's basketball senior Nolan Marold (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Brewster Academy/Loyola Chicago) was introduced as Northeast 10 Conference Elite 24 Award winner for his sport on Saturday after the NE10 Championship title game at Saint Anselm College.
 
The Elite 24 Award honors student-athletes with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at a finals site. He joins women's cross country junior Fran Peterson - also a Nordic skiing student-athlete - in claiming the accolade this school year and brings the number of Saint Michael's Elite 24 Award winners to nine since the laurel was established for the 2018-19 school year, and four in the last two years alone. Current seniors Ashley Silveira (women's swimming & diving) and Nick Wracker (men's ice hockey) were recognized in 2024-25.
 
Marold, a business administration major carrying a 3.86 GPA, has been key to the Purple Knights' run of success the last few years. As a first-year transfer in 2023-24, he was named to the NCAA East Regional Championship All-Tournament Team after helping Saint Michael's win the NE10 regular-season title and claim the No. 1 seed for the NCAA regional. Marold owns more than 750 points and 550 rebounds in three seasons from the post, and he is fifth in program history in career field goal percentage (55.2%) and eighth in blocks (91). This award is his 11th career national or conference academic laurel.
