Quintet Earns CSC Academic All-District for Cross Country and Track

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Five Saint Michael's College student-athletes qualified for College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division II Academic All-District cross country and track honors on Tuesday.

Rising seniors Adam Bilodeau (Lewiston, Maine/Lewiston) and Meredith Reilly (Ashland, Mass./Ashland) and rising juniors Cooper Brennan (Wilton, N.Y./South Glens Falls), Jersey Miller (Minneapolis, Minn./Saint Louis Park) and Norah Stubbs (Essex Junction, Vt./Essex) were all recognized for the first time in their careers. All run cross country, while Bilodeau, Brennan, Reilly and Stubbs are also members of the new outdoor track programs, which competed on the varsity level for the first time this spring.

Bilodeau earned four top-21 finishes in cross country, including taking 18th at the Northeast 10 Conference Championship and 40th during the NCAA East Regional Championship, claiming an NE10 All-Conference third team accolade along the way. He finished the outdoor track season with the program's 10,000-meter run record and as part of the 4x400 relay mark. Bilodeau, who captained both teams, holds a 3.89 cumulative grade-point average as a business administration major. He twice earned NE10 Academic All-Conference and was a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic pick last fall.

Reilly posted a pair of top-20 cross country performances, taking 19th in the NE10 Championships to land on the all-league third team before claiming 35th at regionals. On the track, she owns program marks at the 800-, 1,500-, 5,000- and 10,000-meter distances. A captain of both programs, Reilly is a 3.97 student-athlete triple majoring in education studies, psychology and equity studies. She has claimed NE10 Academic All-Conference twice and earned USTFCCCA All-Academic last fall.

Brennan scored in every cross country race last fall before placing 25th at the conference meet and 50th during regionals. On the track, he owns the mile school record and was part of 4x400 and 4x800 relay marks. The business administration major, who claims a 3.73 GPA, was USTFCCCA All-Academic in the fall.

Miller, who also competes in Nordic skiing, registered five top-10 finishes on the cross country course, placing eighth at NE10s and ninth at regionals. She earned her second USTFCCCA East Regional All-Region citation and her second career NE10 All-Conference nod, but initial first team bid. As a political science major, Miller has a 3.86 GPA. She was named NE10 Academic All-Conference last fall and posted her second USTFCCCA All-Academic laurel.

Stubbs was a regular on the cross country starting line, recording her top finish by taking 19th at the Purple Knights' 8K Equality Invitational. Also a member of the inaugural outdoor track team, she owns the program's 3,000 steeplechase record. She holds a 3.92 GPA as an equity studies and psychology double major.

CSC recognizes major contributors toting at least a 3.50 GPA by their sophomore seasons who meet participation minimums. Each school was able to put a maximum number of student-athletes forward, with All-District qualifiers advancing directly to the Academic All-America ballot, which incorporates national membership voting. Through the Academic All-America program, CSC names Academic All-District and Academic All-America teams at each the NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III levels, while the College Division team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
