COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's cross country and women's outdoor track programs earned Northeast 10 Conference Team Academic Excellence Awards after posting their sports' highest cumulative grade-point average during the 2025-26 school year. Women's cross country earned the award for the fourth consecutive school year, while women's outdoor track was recognized following its inaugural campaign.
Â
Both squads are guided by head coach
Molly Peters, who finished her 20th season with women's cross country last fall; she also oversees the men's cross country and fledgling men's and women's outdoor track programs. Women's cross country posted a 3.777 GPA behind 14 student-athletes landing on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll, necessitating a 3.0 term, both semesters last school year. Women's outdoor track accumulated a 3.594 GPA thanks to nine of its rostered student-athletes spending the entire school year on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll.
Â
Women's cross country's 3.777 GPA was third-best among the NE10's 22 Team Academic Excellence Award winners across all sports for the third time in four years after placing second in 2024-25.
Â
The NE10 Team Academic Excellence Award is bestowed upon teams with the top GPA among each of the league's 24 sponsored sports. In all, 91.5% of the programs in the conference accumulated at least a 3.0 GPA in 2025-26. All 19 Saint Michael's programs that compete in the NE10 registered 3.0 GPAs, as did each of the three that do not: women's ice hockey, Alpine skiing and Nordic skiing.
