COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's volleyball team swept past Southern New Hampshire University, 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-19), on Tuesday in the Ross Sports Center. The Northeast 10 Conference foes met in non-league play.

THE ACTION
- Saint Michael's used a 6-2 run to break an 8-all tie in the opening set, with Marshall dishing five assists and notching a kill of her own to make it 14-10. The visitors wiped out a five-point deficit and rallied to tie at 21 before capping a go-ahead 5-0 run when fifth-year Alexandra Friebolin's kill made it 22-21. First-year Lyla Thomas' kill still had the Penmen up 23-22, but Tower dropped a tying kill before combining with King on a go-ahead block, and Crowley posted the clinching ace to finish a closing 3-0 stretch.
- Tower had two kills as the Purple Knights raced to a 4-1 lead in the second set, and the hosts overcame the visitors tying the contest by slowly pushing their advantage to 16-10, reached when Tower had another kill. The Penmen twice rallied to tie, at 18-18 on Descheneaux's ace and 21-21 on a Friebolin/Martinez block, but Settles downed kills for the next two points to spark an ending 4-1 run.
- In set No. 3, Southern New Hampshire led 5-1 thanks to a pair of Descheneaux kills before the hosts pushed in front, 13-11, on the strength of an 8-2 run. The next three points went to the Penmen, but Saint Michael's scored nine of the next 11 points to take command, with LaFrenier contributing a pair of kills. After the visitors cut the deficit to 22-19, LaFrenier wrapped a kill and an ace around Settles' kill to clinch the win.
