COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College men's soccer team opened its home slate with a scoreless draw against Daemen University on Thursday at Duffy Field. In his home debut as a Purple Knight, junior Cristian Torres (Meriden, Conn./Xavier/Central Connecticut State) earned his first college shutout.

• Senior Tim Florek touched a header just wide in the 73rd minute before classmate Fabrizzio Jaramillo's try from the right side of the box in the 79th was stopped by Torres.
