KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Saint Michael's College field hockey team opened the season on Saturday by losing to second-ranked Kutztown University, 10-0, during the Kutztown Invitational at Andre Reed Stadium. The Golden Bears, whose national ranking is according to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA), advanced to the past three NCAA Division II Tournament semifinals, winning the 2023 crown.

THE ACTION
- Traynor scored twice in the opening 5:31, potting the opening strike after Foecking stopped her initial bid, before Myers tallied in the 14th minute. Traynor fed first-year Gwyn DeFazio with no time remaining in the first quarter.
- The Golden Bears led 8-0 by the 23rd minute and completed their scoring in the 37th minute.
