Men's tennis continues Florida trip with loss to Bethel of Minnesota

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Saint Michael's College men's tennis team fell to Bethel (Minn.) University, 9-0, on Thursday morning at the Oak Street Park Community Center. The Purple Knights, who have one match remaining on their six-match Spring Break trip, are 1-5 this season, while the Royals improved to 11-3.

Senior Patrick Dietz (Prospect, Conn./Woodland Regional) and sophomore Jake Remillard (Saint Albans, Vt./BFA-Saint Albans) came closest to taking a doubles point for Saint Michael's, falling by an 8-4 count at No. 3 during their first match ever siding together.

Senior Forrest Owen (Northboro, Mass./Saint John's) put together a close first set during a 7-5, 6-1 setback in the fifth singles position. First-year Matt Mosher (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) and Remillard won four games apiece at No. 4 and 6, respectively, while sophomore Dan Foley (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) claimed three games in the second spot.

Saint Michael's closes out its Spring Break trip by opposing regionally-ranked Post University tomorrow at 8 a.m. at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus in Orlando. The Eagles are ninth in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region poll.
