GAME FACTS

- The Purple Knights held advantages in shots (32-29) and faceoffs (26-21), putting together a 27-18 lead in shots over the final two stanzas.
THE ACTION
- Sophomore Jenna Hoops (Woodbury, Minn./Saint Paul United) nearly broke the scoreless deadlock early on but rung the post at 4:16 of the opening period during a power play.
- Turley put the Eagles in front with 8:15 gone, going to Dicomitis' blocker side after taking sophomore Holly Kubichek's pass into the low slot.
- Browning doubled the lead at 2:21 of the second frame, taking a giveaway at the blue line and skating in alone on Dicomitis.
- Saint Michael's responded with seven attempts at net during an ensuing two-minute stretch, with first-years Lucy Drougas (Superior, Wis./Madison Capitols) and Mikaela Langbacka (Lorton, Va./Washington Pride) both having shots stopped. Two other bids were blocked, and three drifted wide.
- The Purple Knights broke through near the midway point of the period. After Ruiz slipped a shot just wide of the net, Canterbury jostled with an Eagle to retain possession behind the net and passed from the boards toward Ruiz, whose one-timer beat Glasrud from below the right circle at 9:24.
- Saint Michael's put three more shots on goal within the next minute, but Glasrud stopped each.
- Five more Purple and Gold bids were sent toward net in an early 35-second span of the third period, when Canterbury, Ruiz and sophomore Mary Leys (Newport, R.I./Saint George's School) all saw shots saved.
- Post iced the game when Browning scored from the low slot at 16:48, putting back a rebound of Wysocki's initial shot, which Dicomitis saved.
