THE ACTION

  • Chambers put SUNY Potsdam ahead at 16:02 of the first period on a power play, going high on Mudrak's blocker side from the right circle.
  • The Purple Knights responded with the next two tallies, both coming on power plays of their own. Saracco tied the game with 17:40 gone in the second period after skating through the left circle and picking the upper right corner of the net. Drougas and Langbacka assisted.
  • Just 3:15 into the third, Hoops found the go-ahead goal. Harrison started the play by sending the puck from the right circle toward net, where it was deflected off of the end board and out toward the left post for Hoops, who gave the visitors a 2-1 edge with Barrett out of position.
  • Merrill tied the game at 13:37, making a nice move in the left circle to get free of a Purple Knight before finishing out front.
  • In overtime, Mudrak made consecutive point-blank stops on power-play shots by senior Stephanie Dunlap and Cleary at 1:38 to keep the teams tied.
  • Less than a minute later, graduate student Allie Banas carried from zone to zone before leaving a drop pass for DellaNeve, who fired a shot from just inside the left circle with 2:30 gone and the Bears nearing the end of a 4-on-3 power play.
