THE ACTION
- The Purple Knights killed 1:54 worth of a Sacred Heart power play halfway through the opening period, with White making one save and junior Ella Saracco (Melrose, Mass./Middlesex Islanders) blocking a shot.
- White registered three more stops to negate a Pioneer power play later in the stanza, but O'Connell tallied two seconds after it ended, at 13:40, on a rebound after White saved senior Kelly Solak's initial shot.
- Saint Michael's went on a woman advantage 2:18 into the second stanza, but Sacred Heart tallied 34 seconds later, as Ocel put home a rebound of Klein's shot for a shorthanded tally.
- The Pioneers pushed the lead to 3-0 with 11:22 gone, with McNeil potting a goal.
- White blanked Sacred Heart from there, stopping the hosts' final 22 shots, including all 13 in the third period.
