THE ACTION
- Saint Anselm caught a break at 9:53 of the opening period, when Hoops picked off a pass in the right circle and sent a shot that Kelley partially stopped before the puck flipped out of her glove and behind the netminder. It appeared to cross the goal line before quickly being cleared out by a skater, and the nearest official waved off the apparent goal. Sophomore Jace Zapata (Brea, Calif./Gentry Academy) followed with a shot on net that Kelley cleanly caught.
- The Hawks went ahead shortly thereafter, as Meyers tipped in Golini's cross into the crease at 10:32.
- The Purple Knights got the goal back at 6:53 of the second period, with Saracco one-timing home a shot from the doorstep after taking Langbacka's pass from the left circle during a power play. Hoops added the secondary assist after Kelly saved the puck at the blue line.
- Saint Anselm utilized a 3-on-1 breakout to take the lead at 13:42, with Golini centering for Turner, who beat Mudrak to her blocker side.
- Golini made it 3-1 with a shorthanded goal at 16:55, stripping a Purple Knight of the puck in her own zone before going in alone on Mudrak.
- Mudrak made 12 saves during the third period, when Saint Michael's put only one shot on net across a pair of power-play chances.
