Men's Lacrosse Falls by 13-9 Count at Nationally-Regarded Wilmington

NEWARK, Del. - The Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse team's fourth-quarter rally came up short in a 13-9 loss to nationally-regarded Wilmington (Del.) University on Wednesday at the WU Athletics Complex. The Purple Knights are tied for fifth in the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) poll, while the Wildcats received votes toward the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) national rankings.

  • Wilmington scored 12 of the next 13 goals, with eight players tallying. Herman and Stinson both had hat tricks in that time, with the latter netting a pair of man-up goals. Chirgwin had the Purple Knight marker, at 2:10 of the first frame. The Wildcats led 12-2 16 seconds into the third period.
