Box Score 2 EASTON, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College baseball team opened Northeast-10 Conference play by dropping a pair of close decisions to Stonehill College, 4-3 and 2-0 in seven innings, on Saturday at Lou Gorman Field. The Skyhawks received a vote toward this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region poll.

THE ACTION
- Santos scored the game's first run on Martinez's one-out single in the second inning, when the Purple Knights left the sacks packed.
- Senior Matt Farragher's two-out RBI triple tied the game in the third.
- Saint Michael's left two more in scoring position in the fourth.
- Gaspar led off the fifth inning with a home run, and junior Mike Swanholm extended the lead to 3-1 with a two-out RBI single. Gaspar tacked on an RBI single the following frame.
- Perron tripled home Santos in the eighth before scoring on junior Anthony Santosuosso's (Arlington, Mass./Arlington) groundout, bringing Saint Michael's within a run.
- Luciano walked with two out in the ninth before Tyman induced a game-ending lineout.
