Box Score COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse team's second-half comeback fell short during a 12-10 loss to Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday in a Senior Day contest at Duffy Field. The Purple Knights received votes toward this week's New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) poll, while the Penmen, Northeast-10 Conference foes, were ranked third.

THE ACTION
- The teams exchanged the first four goals in the opening stanza, with Hounchell (7:25) met by Simonson (5:57) before Valentine struck on a man advantage (3:44), but Collins countered 43 seconds later.
- Pietz scored five of the first six goals in an 8-0 run, with Hounchell's tally pushing the lead to 10-2 at 3:12 of the second period.
- Scardino made a stop late in the stanza before Cammarata scooped the ground ball, carried from end to end, and fed for Riggs for a goal with 15 seconds left.
- The Purple Knights again trailed by eight goals on an Auger goal at 3:03 of the third period, giving the Penmen a 12-4 lead.
- Saint Michael's charged back with the next six goals. Hughes (2:28) and Sinibaldi (0:16) found the back of the net before the end of the frame, and Morgan (11:39) and Woods (11:34) scored five seconds apart in the fourth quarter to make it 12-8. Collins tallied again with 8:24 left, and Hirshom cut the deficit to 12-10 with 7:21 to go.
- Regan made three saves down the stretch, while his teammates forced four turnovers, but the Purple Knights were held off the board after Hirshom's marker.
