Softball Splits Pair at AIC, Wins Nightcap After Losing Opener on Walk-Off

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College softball team split a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader against American International College on Friday, losing 4-3 in the opener on a walk-off hit before taking a 10-3 contest in the nightcap at Judy Groff Field.

THE ACTION

  • Devens beat an infield single with two down in the first inning before coming home on an outfield error following Waghorn's ensuing single. Pratt added an RBI knock as the next batter.
  • Acampora trotted home in the bottom half when AIC pulled off a corner steals play.
  • Wells' two-out, two-run double gave the Yellow Jackets a 3-2 lead in the second.
