Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team lost to Stonehill College, 6-5 in overtime, to finish a New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) weekend set on Saturday at the Bridgewater Ice Arena. Three Purple Knights scored their first career goals during the game.

THE ACTION
- The Skyhawks struck first in the first period when Geist found space in the neutral zone on a pass from Achtyl and took a wrist shot that found the upper corner of the net at 4:12.
- The Purple Knights responded at 11:07 when Leys took a backhanded wrist shot in front of the net that was placed perfectly in the upper left corner to even the score at one.
- Stonehill quickly broke the stalemate in the second, scoring just 1:16 into the period as Achtyl found the back of the net on a pass from the point from sophomore Lily Barrett that led her to a backhander in front of the crease.
- The Purple and Gold power-play unit tied the game at two when Canterbury found a cutting LeBlanc, who slotted the puck through the five-hole of the Stonehill goalie for her first college goal.
- The Skyhawks responded with 13:28 gone in the period when Lavender saved a shot attempt from Achtyl, but Mendeszoon was able to capitalize on the rebound, tapping the puck into the net to make the score 3-2.
- Tink blocked a Skyhawk shot attempt before the puck was tipped forward by Kelly, and Tink was able to take a shot from the Stonehill blue line 17:48 into the period to score her first career goal.
- Stonehill scored two unanswered goals in the final 1:13 of the second period beginning with Turcotte scoring from the left faceoff circle to make the score 4-3 in favor of Stonehill. Karo then scored with 20 seconds remaining, taking a wrist shot in front of the crease to make the score 5-3.
- The Purple and Gold came back within one goal 10:16 into the third period when first-year Anna Jerylo (Stillwater, Minn./Gentry Academy) sent a breakout pass for Fisher, who beat the Squires over the right shoulder to make the score 5-4.
- Kelly scored the fourth equalizer of the day on a pass from junior Angelina Ruiz (Independence, Minn./Gentry Academy) into the middle of the attacking zone in front of the crease 11:25 into the final period.
- Achtyl netted the short-handed overtime game-winner on a 2-on-1 breakaway when sophomore Gracie Sacca fed a pass to her strong hand and Achtyl was able to take a wrist shot into the upper right-hand corner of the net to seal the victory 2:11 into overtime.              Â
