Women's Ice Hockey Dropped by Saint Anselm to Finish NEWHA Weekend

Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team lost a New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) contest at Saint Anselm College, 10-1, on Saturday in Sullivan Arena.

THE ACTION
  • Weber scored the first goal of the night unassisted at 7:33 of the first period by slotting the puck into the upper corner of the net to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead.
  • Zapata equalized for the Purple Knights at 15:40, scoring on a wrap-around goal from behind the net on assists from Langbacka and Leys.
  • Weber scored her second goal on a shorthanded effort assisted by a breakout pass from Tulchinsky at 16:19 to make the score 2-1.
  • The Hawks scored at 18:30 when Tulchinsky scored on a loose puck in front of the crease to give the Hawks a two-goal advantage.
  • The fourth goal for the Hawks came 55 seconds later when sophomore Brooklyn Schneiderhan scored after an attempted deflection was stopped by Lavender and she was able to score on the rebound.
  • The hosts tacked on three goals in each of the final two periods.
