Pratt Caps Career with First NE10 Player of the Week Laurel

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College softball senior Sadie Pratt (Dighton, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth Regional) was named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, April 30. The shortstop/outfielder capped her career by claiming her initial league accolade.

Pratt hit .667 with a .750 slugging percentage and .733 on-base clip in three games over the weekend, batting 8-for-12 with six runs, one double, two RBI, one stolen base, and three walks to no strikeouts. In Friday's nightcap, a 7-5 win over American International College in nine innings, she was 3-for-4 with two runs, a double, a walk and a steal. During Saturday's opener with Assumption University, Pratt finished 3-for-4 with two runs and a walk before going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI and a walk in the second contest.

After entering the season with 30 hits, 18 runs, 10 walks and a .199 batting average in 60 career games, Pratt broke out this spring with a .322 average, 39 hits, 25 runs, seven RBI and eight walks as a catalyst near the top of the batting order. She scored the most runs by a Purple Knight in 14 years while fielding a career-high .924 despite often moving between shortstop and the outfield. Pratt had multiple hits in nine of her final 13 games, including each of the last six, during which she batted .583 while raising her average by 64 points.
