Cristian Reyes (Norwood, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) was chosen to participate in the prestigious United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division I/II North/South Senior All-Star Game, which takes place on Friday.
Â
Reyes was one of seven Northeast-10 Conference players chosen for the senior contest, which begins on Friday at 4 p.m. at Rogers William University in Bristol, R.I. Twenty-seven seniors from Division I and II institutions compose a North squad that will oppose a team representing the South.
Â
Of the 54 seniors selected for the all-star game, which was first held in 1940, Reyes is one of 26 representing a Division II institution. He is the fourth Purple Knight ever chosen to play, joining
Andy Kuczo '89 (1989),
Taylor Smoke '09 (2009) and
Cooper Quenneville '14 (2014).
Â
Reyes, who was also chosen for the NE10 All-Conference third team this spring, totaled 39 goals, 58 points and 36 ground balls from his position on attack as a senior. He stands third in the league in both goals per game and points per game, placing 15th and 20th, respectively, among all NCAA Division II players. Reyes scored the most goals by a Purple Knight since 2012 while coming within seven of
Greg Lazarus' '08 18-year-old school record (46). He graduated tied for eighth in program history in career goals (90) and 10th in points (135), with 84 goals and 128 points coming in his final three seasons alone.
