COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's basketball first-year
Quintin Floyd (Windsor, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) was named Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, Jan. 18, claiming the accolade for the fourth time this season and second week in a row.
Floyd averaged 15.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists during a 2-0 week, shooting 17-of-19 on free throws. He turned in 17 points and four rebounds in a 78-72 win at Franklin Pierce University on Tuesday, going 8-of-9 from the charity stripe. During a 75-68 win at Pace University on Saturday, Floyd recorded 14 points, six boards and four assists, shooting 9-of-10 on freebies. Floyd leads Saint Michael's in scoring (11.7) and assists (53) while placing second in steals (20). He is sixth in the NE10 in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0), ninth in free throw shooting (81.5%), and tied for 10th in assists per game (3.1). Floyd adds 3.9 rebounds.
At 11-6 overall and 5-2 in the NE10, the Purple Knights visit American International College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Saint Michael's has won nine of its last 11 games.
