COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's soccer sophomore
Chloe Laizer (West Springfield, Mass./West Springfield) was named Northeast 10 Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, Aug. 30. Laizer is the reigning NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year.
Laizer backstopped the Purple Knights to a pair of shutout victories to begin the season last weekend. After making six saves in a 4-0 win at Holy Family University on Friday, when her team scored three times in 8:22 of the second half to pull away, Laizer registered one stop in a 1-0 victory at Chestnut Hill College on Saturday.
Laizer is among nine NCAA Division II netminders tied for the national lead with two shutouts this fall. Only 22 games into her career, she is already fourth in program history in career wins (18) and tied with
Ashleigh Adams '12 for fourth in shutouts (11).
At 2-0, the Purple Knights host the University of Bridgeport on Saturday at 12 p.m.
