COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's volleyball first-year
Sarah Gordon (Dyer, Ind./Marian Catholic) was named Northeast 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, Aug. 30. Gordon was the Purple Knights' libero throughout their first three matches of the season.
During her first week of college play, Gordon averaged a league-high 4.5 digs per set while tying for second in the NE10 with 10 aces. After posting 14 digs in a 3-0 loss at Saint Anselm College on Thursday, she totaled 23 digs, five aces and four assists to go along with a kill in a 3-2 setback to Felician University on Saturday. Later that day, Gordon had 17 digs and four aces during a 3-1 comeback victory over Assumption University.
Now 1-2, the Purple Knights head west of the Mississippi River for the first time for four matches this weekend at California State University San Marcos' Cougar Classic. They begin play on Friday against Bemidji State University at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT.
