BROOKHAVEN, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College women's soccer
team (1-1-0) lost its first game of the season on Sunday, falling
to Dowling College in double overtime, 1-0, to complete play at the
Dowling Tournament.
Dowling (2-0-0) scored the game's lone goal 2:07 into double
overtime, as Cassandra Cronin netted an unassisted
tally.
Junior Brittany Cocozza (Cranston, R.I./East Greenwich
(St. John's)) stopped four shots in the setback, while
Alicia Commisso did not record a save to earn the
shutout win.
Dowling held a 14-4 edge in shots, and both teams recorded five
corner kicks in the evenly-played contest.
Saint Michael's returns to action on Friday with a 4 p.m.
contest at Northeast-10 Conference rival Stonehill College.
