NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team (2-14-1, 1-8-1 ECAC East) suffered its second loss in as many days to nationally-ranked Norwich, falling 6-0 at Kreitzberg Arena on Saturday. The Cadets reached the 60-shot mark for the second night in a row, and held the Purple Knight offense to just five shots on goal.
The nation's leading point-getter, senior Sophie Leclerc (Barre, Vt./Spaulding) scored twice and tallied an assist for the Cadets, while junior Sarianne Lynn (Wethersfield, Conn./St. Lawrence University) netted a goal and had two assists to help stretch the Norwich unbeaten streak to six games.
For Saint Michael's, sophomore goalie Erin Stevens (Watertown, Conn./Connecticut Polar Bears) made 54 saves in the loss, her second-highest single game performance of the season.
The Purple Knights return to action on Friday at Castleton at 4 p.m.
