regionally-ranked University of Massachusetts Lowell on Tuesday.
In the nightcap, sophomore Vinny DiPierro (Tewksbury,
Mass.) threw the first no-hitter for UMass Lowell since
1999, as the River Hawks earned the seven-inning shutout. DiPierro

the season, and help UMass Lowell (24-6) complete the sweep.
Also for UMass Lowell in game two, senior Sean Burns
(Colchester, Vt.) doubled, singled twice, scored two runs
and drove in a pair, while junior Mark Sanborn (Hopkinton,
Mass.) also had three base hits. Junior Matt

runs as the hosts scored in each of the last four innings.
Sophomore Andrew Kelley (Lincoln,
N.H./Lin-Wood) took the game two loss, allowing seven runs
in 4.2 innings pitched with three strikeouts. Junior Tim
McDonnell (Durham, N.H./Oyster River) broke up the perfect
game, as he reached on an error with one out in the fourth inning,
and freshman Tyler Wild (Quaker Hill, Conn./Saint Bernard
School) reached on a hit by pitch in the sixth inning.
In the opener, UMass Lowell scored three runs in the bottom of
the sixth inning to snap a one-all tie and earn the win. All three
runs in the inning scored on a double by freshman Dylan
Flynn (Upton, Mass.), while junior Cam Kneeland
(Rowley, Mass.) tripled and had an RBI in the opening
victory. Freshman Mike Calzetta (Lawrence, Mass.)
struck out five and allowed just five hits in seven innings to
improve to 4-0 on the season.
Junior Austin Ziskie (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda Chevy
Chase) threw well in the opener for the Purple Knights,
allowing just three earned runs in 6.2 innings. Junior Chad
Estey (New Haven, Vt./Mount Abraham Union) doubled for the
lone Saint Michael's extra-base hit on the day, while sophomore
Collin Fishman (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda Chevy
Chase) drove in the lone Purple Knights' run with a
fourth-inning sacrifice fly.
Saint Michael's will look to snap its eight-game losing skid on
Thursday, as the Purple Knights host Lyndon State College in a 3
