COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's soccer team played to a scoreless tie with 11th-ranked Franklin Pierce University on Wednesday afternoon during Northeast-10 Conference action at Doc Jacobs Field. The Ravens, who entered the game tied for first in the NE10 standings, qualified for last year's NCAA Tournament. Their national ranking is according to the United Soccer Coaches, while they are third in the most recent NCAA East Region poll.

• Vallatini kept the contest scoreless by leaping over a Raven attacker to punch away senior Nathalia Maria da Silva's curling corner kick in the ninth minute.
• At 10:31, Vallatini dove to the left post to turn away first-year Viridiana Vázquez Kloss' shot from the top of the 18.
• Early in the 19th minute, junior Veronica Marques drilled a shot from inside the box that Vallatini dove toward the right post to deny.
• Saint Michael's earned a free kick in the 72nd minute, which senior Alex Matteo (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) had blocked, and classmate Sarah Williams (Bronx, N.Y./The Ursuline School) pushed a follow-up bid high.
• Vallatini kept it scoreless soon thereafter, stopping senior Bruna Tavares' point-blank drive in the 75th minute.
• Another Matteo free kick in the 82nd minute was knocked away by a jumping Kane, and sophomore Taryn Manna (Shirley, Mass./Home Schooled) sent a shot around traffic into the right side netting.

• Saint Michael's worked a three-on-one in the 107th minute, but sophomore Kara Bassett's (New London, Conn./Saint Bernard School) try from 20 yards went wide right.
• A dangerous Raven cross in the 109th minute with two players crashing the net went untouched, and Vallatini made another spectacular save with 46 seconds to go, tipping away Magerman's bid ticketed for the upper right corner. That led to a quick corner, but not further shots went on net.
