THE ACTION

  • The Hawks started the scoring 1:21 into the first period when Meyers won a faceoff in the Hawks attacking third and slapped it to the edge of the right circle for Mueller, who buried the puck into the top right corner.
  • The second Saint Anselm goal came on the power play 4:01 into the second period as Meyers and Mueller connected again, this time on a backdoor pass from Meyers through traffic to Mueller, who one-timed it home.
  • The Hawks made it 3-0 at the 5:04 mark as Ham corralled a puck in the left corner and tossed it to sophomore Jayden Young, who then passed the puck to Golini in the low slot for a one-timer.
  • The Purple Knights found the back of the net 9:15 into the third period when Riley Nichols stuffed a shot into Scavotto's left blocker that bounced to her sister, Madison Nichols, who then shoveled it in.
  • The Hawks scored again 32 seconds later with Mueller netting her hat trick goal on the power play after picking up her own rebound and sniping the top right corner.
  • Campbell scored the first of her two goals on the power play with 10:10 gone, scooping up Meehan's faceoff win and shooting bar down. She scored her second goal 3:35 later, scooping up Meehan's rebound and backhanding the puck from the slot into the top right corner.
  • The Hawks' final goal came with 16:52 elapsed in the third on a shorthanded breakaway by Ham, who skated the length of the ice and had her initial shot saved, but then tapped the puck through Simons' five hole.
