THE ACTION

- Senior Sammy Ferrera touched a shot high from out front in the eighth minute.
- Senior Madeleine Morse (Brownsville, Vt./Windsor) had a pair of good opportunities during the opening half, touching junior Holly Spencer's (Windham, Maine/Windham) cross wide from out front at the 10-minute mark before heading junior Tess McCabe's (Cataumet, Mass./Bourne) long free kick service just wide left in the 30th minute.
- In between, first-year Rileigh Cinquegrano (North Andover, Mass./North Andover) nutmegged her defender in the 14th minute to gain the left side of the box but slipped a left-footed shot high.
- With 30 seconds to go in the opening stanza, Vallatini jumped through traffic to swat away a corner kick cross with her left hand.
- Late in the 50th minute, Bruggeman's rip from the top of the 18 touched a Purple Knight defender on its way toward the goal, but Vallatini fell near the right post and made a stop.
- Vallatini made a big play in the 65th minute, diving across the box to intercept Caporuscio's cross with another Greyhound on the far side of the box.
- Senior back Meghan Dieterle (Franklin, Mass./Franklin) drove a free kick from 25 yards just wide right in the 77th minute before classmate Greta Ricigliano's (Milwaukee, Wis./Nicolet) free kick from the top of the 18 in the 79th minute was denied by a diving Nason near the left post.
- Dieterle's free kick cross in the 87th minute was kicked out of bounds by a sliding Nason, and the teams went to overtime.
- The best chance for either team in the opening extra session was Morse sending a cross in the 98th minute that Nason dove to catch with Spencer in the box looking for a rebound.
- Morse charged the penalty area once more during the 107th minute, but Nason kicked away the bid with a sliding save.
- With fewer than 20 seconds to go, McCabe's corner kick found the head of first-year Izzy Ruprecht (Kingston, Mass./Silver Lake Regional), who sent an attempt wide left for the game's final shot.
