THE ACTION
- In the first 1:11 of the first period, Simons was tested early with four saves on shots from four different Raven skaters.
- Nearly 12 minutes into the stanza, Gervais found senior Jordan Monbouquette (Wayland, Mass./Lawrence Academy) open in front of the goal, but the puck was tipped away before a shot by a Raven defender to keep the game scoreless.
- The Ravens took the lead 8:48 into the second period when a power-play shot by first-year Bethany Ross was saved by Simons, but Guimont was in front of the net to put home the rebound.
- Franklin Pierce scored again at 14:07 when Parker passed the puck up the left-side boards to Kniss along the goal line, who skated the puck to the net and shot between the legs of Simons.
- The Raven lead was cut in half on a power-play goal at 17:30 after Gervais passed to the point for Boscia, whose shot went to the right side of the net.
- The Purple Knights tied the game up just 1:53 later, at 19:23, when Kennard passed the puck to the blue line for Gervais, who skated to the net and shot to the upper part of the net.
- Sophomore Erica Pareja (Odenton, Md./Washington Pride) and Saracco had back-to-back shots with a little more than three minutes remaining in the third period saved by Ostrander.
- Simons stopped Kniss twice in the closing two minutes, sending the teams to overtime.
- The Purple Knights held a 2-1 advantage in shots during the extra period before Kison stole the puck behind the net and scored 3:07 into the stanza when her shot went to the top right corner of the net.
