THE ACTION
- The Pioneers scored first with 8:28 gone in the first period when Lupone found the back of the net off a pass by first-year Cassandra Nevers.
- Twenty-five seconds after the Pioneer goal, the Purple Knights went down the ice and tied the game after a shot by first-year Jordan Lettiere (Hull, Mass./Middlesex Islanders) went wide, and Kennard shot the puck past Walewski with 8:53 down.
- Sacred Heart took back the lead 17:11 into the period on a shot by Lewis that got past Simons.
- In a scoreless second period, Simons stopped all nine shots by the Pioneers, including shutting down a shot by Bishop and the rebound from sophomore Samantha Shoebottom four minutes into the period.
- With 6:16 gone in the third period, Bishop scored a shorthanded goal to put the Pioneers up two.
